Intel Launches Thunderbolt Share for Direct Windows 11 PC-to-PC Transfers

Quick Report

Intel has launched Thunderbolt Share for Windows 11, adding official GUI-based direct PC-to-PC file and peripheral sharing over Thunderbolt 4 or Thunderbolt 5 links. The feature also supports backup and migration workflows without needing a typical network share setup.

The rollout includes licensing limits, with Intel requiring Thunderbolt Share certification and publishing a supported hardware list that currently spans select MSI laptops, several ASUS HP and Lenovo desktop platforms, compatible docks and hubs, an ASUS Thunderbolt 5 add-in card, and a Sparkle Thunderbolt 5 eGPU dock. Intel says only one device in a connected chain must carry Thunderbolt Share licensing for the workflow to operate.
