Microsoft officially announced the deprecation of L2TP and PPTP protocols in Windows Server 2025 and later versions as part of strengthening security measures through the use of modern protocols. MSFT has urged admins to migrate to modern protocols to get better performance, security, stronger encryption and optimized for mobile devices.
