AMD Plans to Unify RDNA and CDNA GPUs Into UDNA to Compete With Nvidia CUDA

Jack Huynh, Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Computing and Graphics Business Group of AMD has announced plans to unify CDNA and RDNA into single UDNA architecture to compete against Nvidia CUDA and bring better development experience in a statement to Tom's Hardware.

Jack Huynh admits AMD made a mistake with RDNA side causing a lot of missed optimization opportunities and focus on unifying RDNA and CDNA into a single architecture for better optimize engineering efforts and logistics so that the RDNA and CDNA work in unison to better optimize the GPU and developer tools to compete against CUDA.
