Xockets Files for Antitrust, Patent Infringement Lawsuit Against Microsoft and Nvidia
Quick Report
Xockets, a inventor of Data Processing Units (DPUs) has filed a lawsuit against Microsoft and Nvidia for patent infringement. The lawsuit alleges that Microsoft and Nvidia have infringed on Xockets’ patents related to DPUs by forming an illegal cartel for fair compensation. Xockets is claiming that Nvidia infringed the patents after acquisition of Mellanox and seeking injunction on Blackwell GPUs and Microsoft’s use of the said GPUs for GenAI platforms.
Robert Cote, Xocket’s board member described the suit as the fight against Big tech’s predatory infringements and monopolistic practices to devalue smaller company's innovations.
The case is Xockets Inc v Nvidia, Microsoft and RPX, U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas, No. 6:24-cv-00453-ADA.
