Apple Announces iOS18 Baked With Apple Intelligence at WWDC24

Apple just announced iOS 18 preview with lots of customization and AI(Apple Intelligence) baked in. The new iOS 18 is powered by Apple Intelligence, which is a new AI engine developed by Apple. The new iOS 18 is expected to be released in September 2024.

Some new features include:

  • Customization of homescreen, app icons and control center. App icons now feature dark mode and color tint which can be personalized by the the user.
  • In Messages app, redesigned tapbacks, new emojis, text effects, send or receive texts in satellite connectivity.
  • The Mail app can now categorize emails to prioritize important emails.
  • The Photos app now supports unifed view with photo grid at the top and photo collections organized by theme.
  • Users can now lock their apps with Biometrics or Face ID while hiding the info from search and Siri.
  • iOS 18 supports RCS (Rich Communications Services)
  • It supports Game Mode to optimize gaming performance and minimize distraction.
